See ya later, alligator...and don't forget to...all together now...HOOK 'EM HORNS!
WeGo back to the Gulf Coast for one more round.
Meanwhile, don't annoy any Alligators, where ever you might find them.
We'll get back on the road this morning and head down to Galveston.
Kevin's reunion with his High School roommate Chris Harris is thus documented.
I don't know what their sports slogan is..."Oust 'em Owls"? "Egg 'em Owls"? Somehow, it just doesn't have the same ring as...well, you know by now!
They certainly have a lovely campus, with lots of those Live Oaks.
First stop, Rice University. But, Bookstore is closed, so no souvenirs.
We keep forgetting that it's still Christmas!
We travel straight down the Lloyd Bentsen Highway into Houston.
As does Minute Maid Park - the park formerly known as Enron.
One of several Houston Skylines appears through the windshield.
On to Houston! where there are probably more alligators, just of a different sort,
I confess, I am awed by the fact that these animals are alive and well and living in the Waters of Texas and Louisiana.
But...Do Not Go In The Water.
It all looks so very pleasant.
They do have a lot of Alligators here.
WeWalk. Cautiously.
Do Not Go In The Water.
We're greeted by another friendly armadillo. The actual campground at Brazos Bend is no great shakes, but they have some good trails, and some VERY good alligator viewing!
We could.
Brazos Bend was supposedly booked this weekend, but on our way to Houston we stopped by anyway to see if we could get a site.
...and Ruby wants this one, Bad!
They really are the funniest little creatures...
And armadillos...have I mentioned how Ruby loves those Armadillos, rooting in the leaves?
